Mines and Lower Altitudes

Case Study 109: Diesel Emissions

Case Study Synopsis

There is a continuous history of diesel engines emitting excessive smoke and exhaust particulate into the underground environment where miners are working. By law, this problem must be resolved; otherwise any mine with unacceptable levels of airborne contaminants will be shut down. Using NORDE LSM and NORDE FSR together this can be easily be solved.

Improvements Noted in this Case Study

Reduced Exhaust Particulate
Filter Costs Reduced by 125%
Engine Uses Less Fuel
Yearly Filter Savings of $93,600
